Government says it has released the much publicized investigative
committee report on the alleged financial malfeasance at GYEEDA.
According to government, the report has been released following a
detailed study of the recommendations and punitive measures recommended
by the initial investigative body and the PV Obeng Committee.
The report has been handed over to the Economic and Organized Crime
Office (EOCO) and the AG’s department to investigative and prosecutes
officials of GYEEDA who were indicted by the committee.
Government came under a deluge of criticism after it refused to make public the report after it was submitted to the president.
But addressing the media on Wednesday, a Deputy Minister of Information
and Media Relations, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said government aside the
report has also released an action plan detailing the direction of the
program henceforth.
He also noted that an interim supervisory board will be established to
take charge of GYEEDA’s activities until proper administrative
structures are put in place to determine the direction of the program.
