Armed robbers didn’t kill our men, we did - Police reveal

The Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Cephas Arthur, has revealed that the two police officers who were shot and killed on Monday, were killed by the police, contrary to earlier reports that suspected armed robbers shot and killed them in a gun battle.
On Tuesday, it was reported that two Police officers of the Winneba District Police were shot and killed in a gun battle with suspected armed robbers on Monday night.

Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, lead counsel for the National Democratic Congress in the election petition decided last Thursday, has challenged former President J.A. Kufuor to assess and comment on what he said have been the ‘vilest insults’ and ‘the most demeaning language’ used against President John Mahama since December 2012.
In that way, the former president would be applying objectivity and truth to his concern for threats against national stability.

Chief Imam Applauds Akufo-Addo for accepting verdict.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, has described opposition leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s decision to accept the Supreme Court judgment on the election petition as "a heroic achievement”.
He also commended Nana Akufo-Addo, who was the 2012 Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for choosing not to seek a review of the judgment; a move the Sheikh said would strengthen the peace of the country to the admiration of the international community.

The Lead Counsel for the governing National Democratic Congress in the just ended election petition case, Tsatsu Tsikata, has strongly defended his comments against Justice Anin Yeboah, saying whatever he said was “factual” and not “lies”.
Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, on Saturday August 31, 2013, accused Justice Anim Yeboah, one of the nine Supreme Court Judges that heard the matter, of allowing his political bias to cloud his judgment.

Former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has visited the 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo to commend him for accepting the verdict of the Supreme Court on the election petition case.
She however suggested that Nana Addo should publicly explain what the Supreme Court verdict on the election petition means for the future elections in the country.
