NPP will never see anything good in Mahama’s govt - Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

Deputy Information Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu says the Mahama-led administration is not bothered by what the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) portrays it to Ghanaians.
According to him, the opposition party has vested interest in painting a picture of doom and gloom about the economy for partisan political interest.

Kwakye Ofosu was reacting to the NPP’s claim that the Mahama-led administration has exacerbated the suffering of Ghanaians.

They argue that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in just about six years has crippled the once vibrant economy under the erstwhile Kufuor administration.

But in a riposte, the Deputy Information Minister on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programmeo n Monday, stated unequivocally that painting the government black is the NPP’s stock in trade.

He intimated that as a party desperate for power, it is ready to do anything to throw dust in the eyes of the electorates just to win the 2016 general elections.

“The NPP has vested interest in creating a situation of hopelessness for cheap political points,” he added.

This notwithstanding, Kwakye Ofosu said government remain resolute in its effort to fulfill the Better Ghana Agenda promise it made to Ghanaians.

Citing the unprecedented growth rates, single digit inflation and growth in various sectors of the economy to buttress his point, the Deputy Information Minister said government is committed to move Ghanaians out of hardship.

“When it comes to achievements since we begun this forth republic, the NPP is nowhere close to the NDC so they have no moral right to advise government on the economy”.

Conceding that the economy is facing challenges, Felix Kwakye Ofosu said government is working assiduously to bring relief to Ghanaians.

On the contrary, former NPP Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South, Nana Akomea, scoffed at Kwakye Ofosu's assertions.

He maintained that given the unprecedented hardships in the country, Ghanaians don’t need the NPP to tell them times are hard.

The former Okaikoi South MP blamed the current economic mess on fiscal indiscipline on the part of government ahead of the 2012 general elections.

Nana Akomea urged Ghanaians to brace up for more hardship because there is no end in sight.
