CPP To Lead Economic Emancipation Of Ghana.

Ms Samia Nkrumah, National Chairperson and Leader of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) has called for complete social, economic, political and cultural emancipation of Ghana.

She said the CPP aims to free Ghanaians from poverty and dependency as well as ethnic politics, and create wealth for Ghanaians and Africans.

Ms Nkrumah said in a statement issued by Nii Armah Akomfrah, CPP Director of Communication and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday.

In the statement the National Chairperson said: “Let there be no mistake, we are here, and in the CPP, to continue the work of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah in Ghana and Africa.

To re-activate the manufacturing plants, planning for national development, putting the Ghanaian at the commanding heights of the economy, delivery of basic needs including quality, compulsory and free education linked to industry.”

She said it also includes re-awakening the consciousness of the ability of Africans to manage their affairs with fairness and compassion.

She said that the CPP needs committed, loyal and dedicated members to form the next Government because there is the need to overturn decades of dependency, mismanagement and a visionless approach to development in Ghana.

The CPP Leader said since the 2012 elections Ghanaians have not had an easy time, adding that the country is experiencing some of the hardest times since returning to multi-party democracy.

Ms Nkrumah said: “Cost of living is excruciatingly high, delivery of basic services painfully poor, no jobs, the utility services are experiencing the most dire situation, many people have never known the use of clean potable water supply, electricity supply is so inconsistent as to make those who are lucky to have power very frustrated.

“All have become painfully aware that as a nation we are mismanaging our resources and losing our revenue through greed, selfishness and negligence. This is stalling our development and killing our morale as a people and a nation.

“Destiny beckons the CPP once again and the party must be ready on the next occasion at the next general election.”
