A press release AU posted on its website said the Chairperson commended the Somali parties for reaching this historic Agreement, which is a further illustration of the capacity of the Somalis to triumph over their differences.

She lauded Ethiopia for its dedication as well as the untiring efforts and the resources committed in facilitating the negotiations between the parties.
She expressed AU's gratitude to the IGAD Secretariat and member states for their continued commitment to peace, security and reconciliation in Somalia, and their determination to sustain the current momentum in Somalia.

The Chairperson called on Somalia's partners to extend support to the Federal Government and the people in their efforts to reconstruct the country.
In this respect, she looks forward to the successful holding of the High-Level Conference on a New Deal for Somalia, scheduled for 16 September 2013 in Brussels.
She assured the Somali authorities and other stakeholders of AU's continued commitment, through AMISOM, to assist them in consolidating the tremendous progress they have made.
