Santa Claus never came to the ghetto': Snoop Lion on why he counts every present as a blessing

Snoop Lion has opened up about his Christmas plans and revealed why he's grateful for each gift he receives.
The rapper - who has recently rebranded himself as a reggae artist and left his past moniker, Snoop Dogg, behind - grew up in a poor area of California and as a result had to go without Christmas presents for many years.

He says his underprivileged upbringing makes him particularly appreciative of his life now.
He said: 'Santa Claus never really came to the ghetto. When I see him I'mma jack him for all those years that I never saw him as a kid.

Photographer G. Brad Lewis, known as Volcano Man, risked frying his camera as he captured friends standing close to the red-hot Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island, Hawaii, in May.
But several have died after getting too close to the bubbling liquid, which spews out at 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
'Being upwind from the poisonous fumes is bad for the body and the equipment. The caustic conditions can fry a camera instantly.'
But witnessing the spectacular force of nature comes with its risks.
'I have lost a few friends to the volcano,' admitted Mr Lewis, who lives in Hawaii. 'One photographer was too mesmerised to act when the bench of land he was on fell into the ocean - exploding hundreds of feet of lava.

Mario Balotelli gets Genghis Khan quote tattooed on his chest to celebrate his first goal of the season

So it's no surprise that the 22-year-old footballer's latest ostentatious show of arrogance came in the form of his new tattoo, on his chest.
The Manchester City striker and self-confessed lothario Mario Balotelli went all out with his latest inking, perhaps to mark his first Barclays Premier League goal of the season on Wednesday.

Instead of celebrating with a night out, the sportsman decided that the best way to show how proud of himself he was, was to ink a Genghis Khan quote on his torso.
‘I am the punishment of God,’ reads the artwork. ‘If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.’

Obama breaks down in tears while thanking campaign staff day after winning re-election

President Barack Obama got so emotional while thanking his campaign staffers in their Chicago headquarters that he began crying.
The normally stoic Democrat had to repeatedly wipe away tears during the five-and-a-half minute talk that was caught on video and posted to YouTube.

'I'm really proud of all of you,' he said
'I try to picture myself when i was your age, and I first moved to Chicago at the age of 25, and I had this vague inkling about making a difference I didn't really know how to do it I didn’t have a structure,' he said.

'When I come here and I look at all of you what comes to mind is not that you guys actually remind me of myself its the fact that you are so much better than I was in so many ways- you're smarter, you're better organized, you're more effective.
'I'm absolutely confident that all of you are going to do just amazing things in your lives. You’re just going to do great things.

'Your journey is just beginning, you're just starting and whatever good we do over the next four years will pale in comparison to what you guys end up accomplishing for years and years to come. That's been my source of hope.'
While the President is known for his soaring oratory skills, which were out in full force on Election Night when he gave his acceptance speech to a crowded convention hall, this talk to his close aides and many recent college graduates was much more personal.

Twitter Hires hacker Charlie Miller For its Security team

What better way to strengthen a company's security than to hire someone familiar with bypassing it? That appears to have been Twitter's reasoning for hiring well-known iOS hacker Charlie Miller.

Miller, a mobile security expert who has made a name for himself with hacks of Apple's iPhone, naturally tweeted the news today of his new position on Friday. He will join the micro-blogging site's security team on Monday.

According to a Twitter spokeswoman, Miller's official title will be Software Engineer, but no further details about his duties are available.

Forbes reported that Twitter's interest in Miller has been rumored since last winter. The gossip is that Miller will be used by the company as a full-time penetration tester looking for and fixing vulnerabilities.

GOOGLE NEXUS-7 TABLET POPS UP IN RARE HOMEPAGE Ad

A search engine known for its simplistic and Adfree Homepage puts an Advertisement right in the middle of its Homepage.
Google really wants people to take a look at its Nexus 7 tablet. The $199 tablet started popping up on Google's home page today, a rare instance in which Google is actively promoting one of its own products.

That Google would go to such lengths underscores the company's desire to make a bigger dent in the burgeoning tablet market, one still dominated by Apple's iPad. Given the traffic that goes through Google, the home page would be one of the most coveted spots on the Web for advertisers. The company, however, has traditionally resisted attempts to run advertisements for paid products on its main page.

Sudden Death of Ghana's President

Ghana's President John Atta Mills has died unexpectedly, a presidential statement said, and an aide said his death occurred on Tuesday after he took ill on Monday night.
The death of the president of the world's No. 2 cocoa grower comes months before Mills was due to stand for re-election at the helm of the West African country that posted double-digit growth in 2011 and has been praised for its strong democracy in a turbulent region.
Vice President John Dramani Mahama was scheduled to be sworn in later Tuesday. According to the country's constitution, Mahama will complete Mills' term that was due to end with elections in December.
"It is with a heavy heart ... that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana," a statement sent to Reuters by the president's office said.

Spain will combat Ronaldo: Maradona

Argentina legend Diego Maradona does not believe world and European champions Spain will change their game plan in an attempt to stifle the threat of Portugal`s influential forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

Seleccao captain Ronaldo has been in scintillating form of late, grabbing three goals in his previous two games to guide his side into the Euro 2012 semi-finals.

However, despite the obvious threat posed by the Real Madrid man, Maradona does not expect Vicente del Bosque`s side to alter their approach in an attempt to nullify his impact.

"They won`t double team him as it`s not their style," wrote Maradona in a coloumn. "They will try to dominate possession so he only sees the ball 10 per cent of the game."

But Maradona conceded that Ronaldo could well hold the key to the tournament hopes of Paulo Bento`s side, citing his desire to be crowned the best player in the world as the driving force behind his improved performances.

He continued: "Cristiano, in great form, will have to fight the entire game for the one ball that will give him a chance on goal.

"In the form he is in, given the chance, he will score. Cristiano wants to bring his team to the final and show why he should be considered the best player in the world."

THE BEST VPN TO USE PD PROXY

Are you wondering if a VPN is right for you? Consider the following practical reasons why you should use our VPN service:

Securing Wireless Connections / Public Wi-Fi

If you use wireless hotspots / public wi-fi, your traffic is open to be easily monitored by both the persons providing the wireless access, and others on the wireless network (as they all have the security key). This makes session hijacking rather easy - as the recent FireSheep extension for Firefox demonstrates. In other words, it's quite simple for another person to hijack your Facebook, Twitter, possibly even your email account.

An attacker sitting in a coffee shop or on hotel wireless could gather dozens of accounts in short order using this method. By using a VPN, even on a wireless connection employing no security measures, you will prevent these types of attacks.

Hiding your IP address / Privacy

As you visit websites, information about you is being stored in databases. To counter this, you need a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection and you need to do it now.

When you connect to their VPN server, it will mask your IP address with our server's IP address. All traffic you send and receive on the Internet passes to and from our vpn server. Your online presence is now "masked" behind our servers. If you visit a website or connect to any online web service it will only see our server's IP address and not your own IP address.

Christiano Ronaldo Header Sends Portugal into Semi Finals..

WARSAW, Poland - After his fine footwork failed to find the target, Cristiano Ronaldo knocked in the only goal Thursday with a thrusting header, sending Portugal into the European Championship semifinals with a 1-0 victory over the Czech Republic.

After Ronaldo twice hit the post, he finally darted in from behind his marker in the 79th minute with all the instincts of an all out striker and headed a cross from Joao Moutinho straight at the ground and up past the flailing hands of Czech Republic goalkeeper Petr Cech.

“I remember in the last game I hit the post twice, too,” said Ronaldo, who scored his third goal in the last two matches. “But the most important thing is I managed to score this time, we won and are in the semifinals. Now it is big smiles and good music.”

Portugal, which will play either Spain or France in the semifinals in Donetsk, Ukraine, next Wednesday, is one game away from reaching its second European Championship final in eight years.

Ronaldo already provided some leadership and two goals to get past the Netherlands in the decisive last group game, and his encore was the lone goal on Thursday.

His strike finally punished the negative tactics of the Czechs, who had parked most of their players in front of Cech for much of the game. The Czechs did not have a single shot on goal, and only two attempts during the whole match. The Euro 2004 runners-up had 20 attempts.

Still, for quite a while, the Czech tactics seemed to work, as even luck seemed to go against the Portuguese. In first-half injury time, Ronaldo deadened a cross from Raul Meireles on his chest, turned and with two touches set up a right-foot shot that had Cech beaten before it crashed against the near post. He threw up his eyes skyward in despair, and for long the desperation would continue.

In the 49th, Ronaldo clipped the post with a 25-meter free kick as pressure immediately increased in a match where the Czechs seemed to be looking for little else than a rare counterattack ahead of a penalty shootout.

“In the second half, we lost our strength and determination and they had one chance that decided the match,” Czech Republic coach Michal Bilek said.

When Ronaldo finally scored and was mobbed by his teammates, he went over to the camera with a beaming smile for a victory kiss to the rest of the world.

“We have suffered,” Portugal forward Nani said. “But we always wanted to win and that’s what we showed. We were superior, then we scored and we really deserved this result.”

Mtn Ghana launches Fast and Free Facebook Mobile Access with (o.facebook.com/mtngh)

MTN Ghana has launched a new facebook page that allows its customers to interact with the company on facebook absolutely free of charge.

Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Rahul De told Adom News it would be an avenue for MTN to also address customer queries online.

“Facebook is a place where a phenomenally huge numbers of people have access to the internet and what we intend to do is to address queries online on o.facebook.com/mtngh so that if other customers have similar queries, they also have access to the answers, unlike when customers call 111 and the answers given benefits only one person at a time,” he said.

The launch was virtual, and the first telecom service done live on radio and online simultaneously. A group of telecoms and ICT journalists were given an experiential session of how the new MTNGhana facebook page worked.

Rahul De noted that in-house research showed that several Ghanaians, most of whom were MTN customers had facebook accounts and had been browsing a lot on facebook, but also wanted the opportunity to do so for free.

Yet when using the mobile internet, people around the world face two main challenges—sometimes the experience is too slow to be fun and the cost of data plans and understanding them can be daunting. We have designed 0.facebook.com to help solve these two barriers and we hope that even more people will discover the mobile Internet with Facebook as a result.

Collaborating with operators from around the world, we developed this new mobile site with two main attributes:

It's fast: 0.facebook.com includes all the key features of our standard mobile site m.facebook.com. Users can update their status, view their News Feed, like or comment on posts, send and reply to messages, or write on their friends' Wall just as they do on Facebook.com. Rather than making photos viewable on 0.facebook.com, we put the photos one click away so they don't slow down the experience. You can still view any photos on Facebook if you want but your regular data fees will apply.

It's free: Thanks to the help of mobile operators we collaborated with, people can access 0.facebook.com without any data charges. Using 0.facebook.com is completely free. People will only pay for data charges when they view photos or when they leave 0.facebook.com to browse other mobile sites. When they click to view a photo or browse another mobile site a notification page will appear to confirm that they will be charged if they want to leave 0.facebook.com

We're launching 0.facebook.com in partnership with more than 50 mobile operators around the world, listed below.

Wayne Rooney returned to action

Wayne Rooney returned from suspension Tuesday and scored the lone goal to give England a 1-0 win over Ukraine and a spot in the European Championship quarterfinals.

The Ukrainians thought they had equalized in the 62nd minute when Marko Devic's looping shot appeared to cross the line before it was hooked clear by John Terry. But the goal was not awarded by the referee or his extra assistant behind the goal.

The controversy will likely add to the pressure on UEFA President Michel Platini to reverse his opposition to goal-line technology.

''I was sad because the ball was in the goal by one meter,'' Ukraine coach Oleg Blokhin said.

Rooney, who sat out his team's first two matches at Euro 2012, returned from suspension Tuesday and headed in the lone goal in the 48th. Steven Gerrard whipped a cross into the penalty area that went past two defenders before Pyatov let it slip through his hands as he crouched to collect the ball. Rooney was primed at the far post and put England ahead.

''There was a lot of pressure on Wayne,'' Gerrard said. ''But he stood up and when we needed him he was there.''

It was Rooney's first goal at a major tournament since scoring four at Euro 2004 as an 18-year-old rising star. He failed to find the net at both the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, while England failed to even qualify for Euro 2008.

With the victory, England won Group D and will next face Italy in Kiev on Sunday. France also advanced, despite losing to Sweden 2-0 in the other group match. Ukraine, however, will have to watch the rest of the tournament as spectators, just like co-host Poland.

''No one believed in us at the start but we're gaining momentum at the right time,'' Gerrard said. ''I don't think tonight's performance was fantastic, but we stuck together, got the job done and won 1-0 against a good team.

''We've been criticized in the past maybe for not turning up, underperforming, and we can take that. We're man enough. But you saw a reaction. When you get criticized it's not nice and you have to react by playing better and I think that's what we did.''

England is now unbeaten in five matches under Roy Hodgson, who took over the team last month following Fabio Capello's resignation in February.

''Most people didn't think we'd get out of the group,'' Hodgson said. ''We've won it on points instead of goal difference as well. This was an away game with a capital 'A.'

''There were (50,000) people in and only 4,000 brave England fans. When we needed a bit of luck, when the ball may have crossed the line, we got a bit of luck and went on to win the match.''

A draw wouldn't have helped Ukraine advance, but it would have given the team hope knowing that a victory was enough to put the co-hosts through to the quarterfinals.

Ukraine had never won at the Donbass Arena on four previous occasions, and failed to seize on its dominance when it mattered most.

With their fans dominating the crowd and captain Andriy Shevchenko on the bench at the start due to a left knee injury, the Ukrainians were in control from the outset, far more confident on the ball and containing England inside its own half.

But early efforts were from distance, with Denys Garmash and Yaroslav Rakitskiy striking over, while England midfielder Scott Parker had to throw his body into the path of Devic's low shot.

They were getting closer, though, and looking more even menacing going forward with Oleh Gusev getting into the penalty area and sending in a shot that just creep over Joe Hart's goal.

Before Rooney scored, England came close to testing Pyatov when Ashley Young sent in a low cross that was easily dealt with in the 11th minute.

As Ukraine attacked the England goal, Rooney was quiet in the first half of his first competitive match in more than a month until he sent a free header wide in the 28th from Young's cross.

At the 2010 World Cup, England midfielder Frank Lampard was denied a goal that would have leveled the match against Germany at 2-2. England ended up losing 4-1.

''To be successful you need a bit of luck,'' Gerrard said. ''Two years ago we were unlucky with Frank Lampard and we had to pack our bags.''

Barcelona wins Copa del Rey in coach Guardiola’s final match

Barcelona gave coach Pep Guardiola the perfect send off Friday, beating Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in Madrid to win the Spanish Cup in the coach’s last match in charge after a memorable four seasons in the Catalan hot seat.

Lionel Messi, with his 73rd goal of the season, and a Pedro Rodriguez double finished off the Basque side inside the first half an hour and delivered Guardiola his 14th and final trophy at the club.

Guardiola leaves the side he once played for with three Spanish leagues, two Champions Leagues, two FIFA World Club Cups, two UEFA Supercups, three Spanish Supercups and two Spanish Cup victories as coach.

The win was a repeat of Guardiola’s first title in the 2008-09 final when the Catalans ran out 4-1 victors over Bilbao.

Guardiola has never lost to Athletic in his four seasons, winning ten out of 15 clashes between the two sides who boast the most Spanish Cup victories, Barca making it 26 with this win to Bilbao’s 23 titles.

Afterwards the 41 year-old from the small town of Santpedor, 70 kilometres (40 miles) outside the Catalan capital, was happy with the win and spoke of the role Messi has played during his time at the club.

“Fourteen titles in 4 years is a very high standard so I am very happy to leave the club in a good position, and tonight we played great for the first 35 minutes, we’ve had a good year with 4 titles so I leave very satisfied,” he said.

“From Messi I have learned to be even more competitive than I ever was, without him we would not have won the number of titles we have and I’m very priviledged to have coached who for me is the best player I have ever seen.”

Marcelo Bielsa, the Argentinian veteran in charge of Bilbao was philosophical in defeat.

“I put out a team I thought could win tonight, but we were not able to live up to the expectations of our fans,” he said.

With Dani Alves and Carles Puyol injured, Guardiola had decided to start with a four-man defence including the youngster Martin Montoya at right-back.

He also made the decision to give Pedro a final chance to play himself into the Spanish squad for Euro 2012 and the forward grabbed it with both feet.

Bilbao got an early warning of what to expect when Messi went straight into a mazy run from kick-off before shooting just wide.

Within three minutes of the start Barca were ahead.

When centre-half Amorebieta diverted a goal-bound Pedro shot wide, the striker latched on to a loose ball to fire home from the resulting corner.

On 15 minutes Messi had a left-footed curling shot tipped over the bar by Bilbao stopper Gorka Iraizoz and three minutes later Xavi Hernandez shot just over the bar.

It was therefore no surprise when Messi doubled the lead on 21 minutes, the little Argentinian taking one touch to control a slide-rule pass from Andres Iniesta before slamming home from close range.

Four minutes later and Pedro made it three to end all doubts of where the cup would be heading.

Gerard Pique played a long searching pass to Xavi on the edge of the area who cleverly laid it back for the Tenerife-born player to side foot home his second.

Bilbao continued to battle and within a minute going three down Markel Susaeta brought the first save at the other end from Jose Pinto, who has replaced Victor Valdes all season in goal for Barca in domestic cup games.

The Basques had further chances to reduce the margin.

On 28 minutes referee David Fernandez waved away what appeared to be a clear penalty after Pique had pulled down Fernando Llorente and Iker Muniain had an angled shot blocked at the near-post on the stroke of half-time.

Backed by their impressive fans who refused to be silenced by the scoreline, they continued to look for a way back throughout.

Ibai Gomez, Inigo Perez and Jon Aurtenetxe all had chances but they failed to score in a final for the second time this season, following their 3-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Europa League.

At the other end Gorka denied Messi after another scintillating run as Barca were content to run down the clock and savour the occasion.

Guardiola has said he will now take a season break from the game before deciding where his future lies.

Here he continued to wring every ounce of effort out of his side from the sidelines in the final moments of a glittering reign to assure another title for his Barcelona side.

Cech Hopes to win the Champions League cup..

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech admits winning the Champions League final would be the perfect early birthday present to himself.

Cech turns 30 within hours of the final whistle of Saturday's Champions League final and he admitted there would be no better gift than finally holding aloft the trophy that has eluded him for the last eight years.

"If I get a cup, I don't need a cake."

Cech suffered Champions League heartache four years ago when Chelsea lost to Premier League rivals Manchester United in Moscow after a penalty shoot-out.

But, while that defeat haunts many of his team-mates until this day, the Czech Republic star is made of sterner stuff.

"We had 120 minutes as well as the penalty shoot-out to win the cup," added Cech.

"Sitting in a corner and crying because I lost is not my style, because it's just the way it is and you can't change the history.

"You can only change the future and the present, and the present now is that we are again in the final and we will have another go and I hope that this time it will finish in a completely different way."

Didier Drogba admitted this week he had assumed Chelsea would react to their 2008 agony by winning the Champions League the following year.

Cech was under no such illusions.

"We have been here eight years and it's going to be only the second Champions League final," he said.

"It's a long journey to the final in the Champions League.

"So it's not easy and sometimes just one unlucky game can change your whole season.

"This time, hopefully the unlucky game happened already."

Cech added: "I think this season just proved that, in football, everything's possible," said Cech, reflecting on epic victories against Napoli and Barcelona.

"After the Napoli game away, I think everybody had written us off and here we are in the final."

GHANA'S AZONTO DANCE CRAZE

Azonto has become one dance that has gained worldwide prominence within the shortest timeframe. Throughout the days of Shuperu, Mapuka and Gbeeohe among others, one dance that has the prospects of staying through the years is the Azonto dance - the dance that has flexible moves and is gradually becoming a craze amongst children, parents and the youth especially.

The biggest phenomenon in Ghana in 2011, Azonto, continues to buzz across the country and across the globe via the World Wide Web. With an entry into Wikipedia and millions of views on YouTube, the craze is spreading like wild fire.

The dance involves movement of most of the joints in the body in a rhythmic fashion taking very few steps. Just like most African dances, knee bending and hip movements are essentials to dancing it. Movements in the dance include washing, driving, boxing, making-up, you name them.

The exact origin of the dance is from Greater Accra in areas like Bukom, Chorkor, James Town, and most of the coastal areas in Ghana. However, its popularity, both on the local and international platforms has been propagated by a new wave of entertainment talents emerging in the Greater Accra City.

Arguably the dance was made very popular by Ghanaian football star AsamoahGyan in his goal celebrations for Ghana. Azonto has been further commercialized with its inclusion in music lyrics and music video clips.

Azonto became more popular when young Ghanaian musicians including Castro, R2bees, Stay Jay, Sarkodie, 4X4, among others made songs based on the rhythm of the dance.

Well, interesting enough according to experienced Azonto teachers, when taught effectively, Azonto can be learned within five minutes.

The ‘azonto’ dance goes with any song, even gospel, hence the name Christozonto. So you’ll have no excuse not celebrating the Christmas to the fullest because in any case, azonto tutorials are even on the internet, where u can try your hands on.
